Two-time UEFA Champions League winners, Nottingham Forest, have joined a host of top clubs in pursuit of Super Eagles and Atalanta forward, Ademola Lookman, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 2024 CAF Player of the Year Award winner has maintained his goal-scoring form for La Dea this season. With 18 goals and six assists in all competitions, the 27-year-old is in his second-best season in terms of attacking output, which is a decent number considering the number of injuries he’s dealt with this season.
Lookman’s form has caught the attention of many clubs in a season that looks like his final one under Gian Piero Gasperini in Bergamo.
Last summer, Paris Saint-Germain expressed interest in signing the former Fulham attacker, but the deal never came to fruition. However, Luis Enrique’s side opted for Desire Doue from Stade Rennes and, in January, went for Kvhicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli.
As per PSG Talks, the French Ligue 1 champions have dropped out of the race for Lookman, as they already have more than enough options on the flank.
According to Give Me Sport, Nottingham Forest are keen on Lookman’s signature and will do their best to make the Champions League qualification spots so their offer for the Nigerian can look lucrative.
Given the tension behind the scenes at Atalanta, it is believed a bid around £43m could be enough to move the former Everton star to the City Ground.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side faces stiff competition from Tottenham Hotspur as the Londoners are also weighing up a bid for the ex-Leicester forward who grew up in London, and it is widely believed a move back home appeals to Lookman.
